Sai Life Sciences Limited has announced plans to recruit more than 700 scientific, technical, and management professionals during FY2026–27, as the company expands its capabilities to meet rising global demand for integrated drug discovery, development, and manufacturing services.
The hiring initiative reflects the company’s strategic growth plans and the increasing demand for reliable contract research, development, and manufacturing organizations (CRDMOs), particularly as global pharmaceutical companies diversify supply chains and seek trusted partners.
Wide Range of Scientific and Technical Roles
The recruitment drive will cover multiple specialized functions, including:
- Medicinal chemistry and biology
- Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK)
- Process and analytical development
- Formulation and process engineering
- Technology transfer and quality assurance
- Peptide research and manufacturing
- Program management and business development
These roles will strengthen the company’s ability to support complex drug discovery and manufacturing programs.
Focus on Attracting Global Scientific Talent
A key priority for the company is recruiting highly skilled scientists from top institutions in India and abroad. This reflects the growing complexity of pharmaceutical innovation and the expanding role of Indian CRDMOs in global drug development.
Krishna Kanumuri, CEO and Managing Director, said the industry is undergoing a major transformation driven by supply chain realignment and increased outsourcing of scientific research.
He noted that the company is expanding infrastructure, digital systems, and scientific capabilities to meet this demand while offering scientists opportunities to work on globally significant drug development programs from India.
Supporting Advanced Drug Discovery and Manufacturing
The new hires will contribute to advanced research and production activities such as:
- Complex small-molecule synthesis
- High-throughput experimentation
- Data-driven drug discovery
- Late-stage chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC)
- Commercial-scale manufacturing
These capabilities are critical for accelerating drug development timelines and ensuring high-quality production.
Hyderabad to Lead Hiring Expansion
While Sai Life Sciences operates facilities in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, most of the new positions will be based at its Hyderabad integrated R&D campus, the company’s largest research hub.
The company currently employs over 3,400 scientists and professionals globally, and the planned recruitment highlights its continued expansion as a key partner to pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms worldwide.
