The Hyderabad traffic police have booked a case against a man for allegedly allowing his minor son to drive a luxury electric sports car on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), once again highlighting the dangers of Hyderabad minor driving incidents and violations of road safety rules.

The action was initiated after a video showing the teenager behind the wheel of an MG Cyberster surfaced online and triggered multiple complaints from members of the public. The incident quickly gained attention on social media, prompting authorities to identify the vehicle and take legal action.

According to police, the luxury car was traced after receiving complaints that a minor was driving the vehicle on the high-speed Outer Ring Road, one of Hyderabad’s busiest expressways. Following the investigation, officers booked a case against the vehicle owner—identified as the boy’s father—for permitting a minor to operate the car.

As part of the enforcement action, police also seized the MG Cyberster, underscoring their zero-tolerance approach towards minor driving cases.

Police reiterate strict action against minor driving

The incident has prompted the Hyderabad traffic police to once again warn parents and vehicle owners against allowing children below the legal driving age to operate motor vehicles.

Officials stressed that permitting a minor to drive is a serious traffic law violation that not only endangers the life of the child but also puts other motorists and pedestrians at risk, particularly on high-speed corridors such as the Outer Ring Road.

Police have repeatedly advised parents to ensure that underage children do not have access to vehicles, adding that strict legal action will continue against those found violating the law.

Viral video led investigators to the vehicle

Authorities said the case came to light after complaints were lodged regarding a viral video allegedly showing the minor driving the luxury electric sports car on the ORR. Using the details available, investigators traced the vehicle and initiated legal proceedings against its owner.

The MG Cyberster incident serves as another reminder that social media footage is increasingly helping law enforcement identify traffic violations and take prompt action.

Road safety remains the priority

The Hyderabad traffic police continue to urge citizens to follow traffic regulations and prioritise road safety. Officials reiterated that allowing minors to drive is a punishable offence and warned that similar violations involving Hyderabad minor driving or other reckless driving incidents will attract stringent legal action.

The latest case reinforces the responsibility of parents and guardians to prevent underage driving and ensure compliance with traffic laws, especially on major roads such as the Outer Ring Road, where high vehicle speeds significantly increase the risk of serious accidents.
